WEEK 1: Immersion to the problem

Mind map of quality of life of children that we made.

After the crush course that we had on the first weeks, it was time to form the teams and work on the project, which is centered on improving the quality of life of children.


Our team is made up of Cecilia, an Uruguayan student of Psicology; Alejandra, a Spanish girl who studies Audiovisual; Luca, an Uruguayan student of Design; Mariana, an Uruguayan girl who studies Industrial Design - Products; and Victoria, a Chilean student of Engineering.

To realize the project we will use the Design thinking, the methodology to identify problems and make solutions desirable, feasible and viable. It consists of several iterative stages: empathize, define, devise, prototype and test.


At the beginning of the process, the first homework was "doing a Mind Map". This tool is used to know about the context of the topic,in this case the quality of life of children, and it usually answers questions like Who are the clients?, Who are the actors?, Providers?, Related institutions?, Which are the segments?, etc.


We looked for information about the education, recreation and free time of children, two of the subtopics that the course proposed us, to do the map.


After working and talking too much about this topic, we decided keep going on the project focusing on Childhood recreation and Leisure time, so this topic is what our next posts will be about.
